With Pasha Kovalev stepping down from his Strictly Come Dancing role to enjoy married life (and impending fatherhood) and pursue new opportunities, a space opened up for a new professional dancer. The BBC has just announced that Nancy Xu is the lucky dancer who'll be joining the lineup of Strictly pros for 2019. Nancy was a finalist on So You Think You Can Dance in China and is also one of many Strictly stars to have danced in the Broadway and West End show Burn the Floor. She said of her new role, "I cannot wait to start this new journey with all these amazing people and share the magic together."
Nancy won't be the only new face when Strictly returns later this year. It was recently announced that Motsi Mabuse, older sister of pro dancer Oti, will be joining the judging panel, replacing Darcey Bussell who also chose to bow out at the end of series 16. Here's hoping these new faces bring even more sparkle to the ballroom.
